琉球大学農学部亜熱帯フィールド科学教育研究センター上原(都市林)研究園の植物および土壌2024 · Vascular plant taxa cultivated and the soil at Uehara Forest Park (urban pocket forest park), Subtropical Field Science Education and Research Center, Faculty of Agriculture, University of the Ryukyus are surveyed and recorded. As of December 2024, the pocket park possesses 112 families, 246 genera including both cultivated and wild plants. The soil in the park is characterized by "Jahgaru," formed from the weathered mudstone of the Shimajiri Group, which is fertile and primarily used for agricultural land in Okinawa, therefore, rare as forest land. Jahgaru's slightly high pH, influenced by calcium carbonate content, impacts local flora and undergoes changes due to weathering, leading to shifts in soil characteristics and associated plant communities.
