• The Adaptation and Resilience of Pastoralists During The COVID-19 Pandemic ㏌ Mongolia2021 · This paper draws on research conducted from 2021–2023 by multiple teams in Mongolia to understand COVID-19 impacts on rural pastoralist communities. While Mongolia adopted limited national-level COVID-19 policies specifically tailored for mobile pastoralist households and their livelihoods, the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted a range of pressure points, adaptations and innovations in the local health care response. In addition, the research demonstrated how pastoralists adapted their livelihoods, mobility and participation in political processes, including widespread engagement with wireless technology to obtain information, access education for children, participate in cultural events and develop online markets for pastoralist goods. Finally, the research reveals that after the pandemic subsided as a primary risk, pastoralists continued to cope with additional challenges from winter dzud , dust storms, livestock disease outbreaks and the economic impacts of border closures with China.

• 近現代ユーラシアにおける遊牧社会の変容にみる新生活原理の構築 江川 ひかり, 松原 正毅, 冨田 敬大, 奥 美穂子, 松宮 邑子, シャーヒン イルハン, アヨーシ ツィール 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業 挑戦的萌芽研究, 挑戦的萌芽研究, 明治大学, 2016年04月01日 - 2019年03月31日 人類は、大量生産・大量消費の末に食品ロスや地球温暖化の危機に直面している。2015年、国連が国際社会において達成を促した「持続可能な開発目標」17項目のうちの過半数は、歴史的に遊牧社会で実現されてきた。モンゴルでは、第二次世界大戦以降、牧畜の産業化が進められたが、一方で伝統的な資源利用倫理に基づく土地の共有制は維持された。遊牧民の自然との共生・富の平等原理に学び、遊牧・牧畜民と都市定住民とが柔軟な結びつきを築きつつ、牧草地・森林等公共性の高い自然の共同利用・管理を維持する法・行政システムを国際的に構築することこそが、人類生存の救済策であることを提言する。2016 · KUID parsed section
