• 赤土流出防止用グリーンベルト植物としてのベチバーから精油製造の試み2020 · <p>沖縄県における海洋汚染の主たる原因の一つとして，畑地からの赤土流出が挙げられる。これらの赤土流出保全のため沖縄県においてはベチバー（<i>Vetiveria zizanioides</i>）がグリーンベルトとして広い地域に植栽されている。本研究では，このグリーンベルトとして栽培がされているベチバーから精油の採油が可能であるか，また，市販の精油との比較，さらに採取時期による採油率の変化および成分変動の有無について検証を行った。本研究で比較のために用いた二つの市販精油（インドネシア産およびスリランカ産）では精油中の組成成分の構成が異なっていた。採油を行った精油中の特長では，最も主要な成分ではkhusimolやvetiselinolなどのアルコール類が主要であり，この傾向はインドネシア産と同様であった。また，初夏と初冬における採油率（乾物重あたり）を比較した場合，初夏において0.62％であるのに対して初冬においては0.34％であった。一方，精油製造時に季節を問わず，構成成分の変動が比較的小さかった。このため，採油時期に起因する品質の不安定の懸念が少ないことが示された。今後，グリーンベルトを用いた精油の製造が進むことにより，一次産業とアロマ業界が複合することによる環境保全の促進につながることが想定される。</p>

• IoTを基盤とした高収量・高品質マンゴー生産システムの開発2019 · <p>Mango is a popular seasonal fruit in summer, and mango production in the Okinawa prefecture is the largest in Japan. However, the growth process of mangoes is susceptible to changes in sunshine, temperature, and other factors. In this research, to produce mangoes without being influenced by the natural environment, we will develop a production system that can positively realize environmental measurement and control by using an IoT sensing system. Specifically, we introduced local CO₂ application technology and a supplemental LED lighting system with the aim of activating photosynthesis by mango trees.</p>
