- 日本語に依存しない英語読解指導の生徒の心理的バリア軽減に向けた一考察 -All Englishの読解指導に対する心理的バリアの軽減を目指した英語活動の特徴-2025 · The purpose of this study is to identify psychological barriers from the students’ perspective in English reading instruction that does not rely on Japanese, to present an educational psychological approach to mitigate these issues, and to clarify the characteristics of this approach. The study was conducted through basic English classes (CEFR A1-A2) at a mid-level school in Okinawa. In the target group, psychological barriers to All-English reading instruction were identified, with contributing factors including difficulties in understanding classes conducted entirely in English, increased feelings of inadequacy, and anxiety. It was also suggested that elements of “fun” and kinesthetic reading activities reduced the psychological barriers in the target group, indicating the characteristics of materials and English activities that contribute to the success of All-English reading instruction. It was found that reading activities, not limited to traditional classroom settings but also incorporating kinesthetic learning and interactive activities, helped alleviate tension towards the All-English class environment.
