AIG General Insurance is the Japanese non-life insurance subsidiary of American International Group (AIG). The current company was formed through the 2018 merger of the long-established foreign insurer AIU Insurance and Fuji Fire and Marine Insurance. Its core businesses include personal auto, fire, medical, and overseas travel insurance, as well as corporate risk solutions. It operates mainly through an indirect agency-sales model and is one of Japan’s largest foreign-affiliated non-life insurers.
