DBJ (Development Bank of Japan Inc.) is not an ordinary commercial bank and does not accept retail deposits. It is a government-affiliated policy-based financial institution that uses sophisticated, integrated investment-and-lending methods to provide long-term and risk capital to industries, infrastructure, regions, startups, and other areas, while also offering M&A advisory, consulting, and industry and regional research. With only approximately 1,261 employees as of the end of March 2024 and very limited hiring, it is an elite financial institution with high compensation and a very demanding selection bar.
