Fukudagumi is Niigata's largest mid-sized general contractor. Its defining combination is a Niigata base, nationwide operations, and proprietary super-high-rise construction technology that is uncommon among mid-sized contractors. Founded in 1902, it is the largest general contractor in Niigata Prefecture and the core company of the Fukuda Group. Building construction and real estate are its main businesses. Although its home market is Niigata, it generates a larger share of revenue outside the prefecture across Japan, and it is one of the few mid-sized contractors capable of constructing super-high-rise buildings with proprietary technology. It is therefore a nationally active mid-sized general contractor with deep Niigata roots. Its fiscal year ends in December.
