Maruha Nichiro—renamed Umios, Inc. effective March 1, 2026, while retaining Maruha Nichiro as the brand—is Japan's largest seafood and comprehensive food company. Starting from the sea, it operates an integrated global value chain from raw-material procurement through production and sales, supported by about 150 group companies. Its three core businesses are Marine Resources, combining fisheries and aquaculture with global seafood and livestock trading; Processed Foods, including frozen foods, Akebono canned foods, nursing-care foods, and health foods across the full temperature range from ambient to frozen; and Food Ingredients Distribution. Its defining feature is a borderless approach spanning countries and product categories.
