Nissan Chemical Corporation, established in 1887, is a chemical manufacturer with four main businesses: chemicals, functional materials, agricultural chemicals, and healthcare (pharmaceuticals). Functional materials for semiconductors and displays, agrochemicals such as herbicides, and pharmaceuticals give it one of the highest profitability levels in the chemical industry. It is a research-driven, high-value-added, high-margin chemical company rather than a mass producer of commodity chemicals.
