SHIFT is not an ordinary SES, staffing, or low-tier outsourcing company. It is one of Japan's largest specialist companies in software testing and quality assurance (QA). It has made software testing and QA—often treated by major companies as routine work despite a market worth about JPY 5.5 trillion—its core business, using standardized methodologies such as CAT and large-scale training systems to handle a high volume of projects. In recent years, it has expanded into development, operations, security, DX, and consulting, describing itself as an "IT general trading company." Growth has been extremely rapid: revenue rose roughly 50-fold in 10 years, consolidated revenue for FY2025, the fiscal year ended August 2025, was about JPY 129.8 billion, and consolidated personnel numbered about 15,000, including partners and dispatched workers. Through SHIFT3000, it is targeting revenue of JPY 300 billion.
