Shogakukan Inc.
株式会社小学館
Founded in 1922, Shogakukan is a major Japanese general publisher whose core remains publishing magazines, books, and manga. Its revenue structure, however, now depends heavily on rights revenue from screen adaptations and overseas licensing, as well as digital revenue, rather than simply selling printed books. It is also the oldest company in the Hitotsubashi Group, sharing historical roots with Shueisha and Hakusensha, while maintaining an exceptionally small scale of graduate hiring.
