SOMPO Holdings is the pure holding company of the SOMPO Group and does not itself conduct the underlying insurance operations. Its operating companies include Sompo Japan Insurance, the core domestic property and casualty insurer; SOMPO Himawari Life, the life insurer; SOMPO Care, the nursing care business; and overseas insurance businesses such as Sompo International. For international students, almost all new-graduate entry points are at these operating companies rather than at the holding company itself.
