Taiyo Yuden is a specialist electronic components manufacturer ranked among the global top 3 in multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs). It focuses on passive components such as MLCCs, inductors, high-frequency devices, and energy devices, and mass-produces the world's smallest 0.25×0.125mm MLCCs. Its products are widely used in smartphones, automotive applications, 5G communications, AI servers, and industrial equipment. Far from being an “unremarkable small-parts maker,” it is a compact but extremely technology-intensive supplier of essential components, with hundreds to more than 1,000 of its components used in a single smartphone; historically, it was also a pioneer in CD-Rs.
