VMware, Inc. (Japan) — Broadcom Infrastructure Software Group
ヴイエムウェア株式会社
VMware K.K. (ヴイエムウェア株式会社) is the Japanese legal entity that continued to operate after U.S.-based Broadcom completed its acquisition of VMware in November 2023. It is no longer best understood as the Japanese subsidiary of an independent U.S. cloud computing company, but as the Japanese marketing and sales organization of Broadcom’s Infrastructure Software Group, centered on virtualization, private cloud, and network security products such as VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). For international students, it is a foreign-owned IT company that has undergone major global layoffs and remains in organizational restructuring, while management has described the Japanese business as performing well. New-graduate recruiting still uses the VMware brand rather than Broadcom.
