YKK is not simply a zipper company. It is an unlisted, owner-controlled corporate group with two core businesses: (1) the Fastening business at YKK Corporation, which supplies zippers, snaps, buttons, and related products and is one of the world's largest zipper manufacturers with a global footprint; and (2) the AP business at YKK AP Inc., which supplies building materials such as windows, doors, and curtain walls. These are two global manufacturing pillars—zippers and building materials—with key sites in locations including Kurobe, Toyama Prefecture.
