This subject tests not how much grammar you know but whether you can process academic Japanese under time pressure. The twelve chapters follow the syllabus's four sections: the reading chapters match the drills now open, while the listening-reading, listening, and writing chapters are marked as official scope with their banks still in preparation.

Use the same set in every practice session.
Check afterwards that the notes remain readable.
Fix your symbol set in practice; symbols invented on the day are unreadable to you minutes later.
メモの構造化
Dividing the page into fixed zones and placing information by type retrieves faster than linear notes.
Draw the zones before the audio starts.
Place each piece of information in its zone by type.
When answering, look only at the zone you need.
Use left and right for speakers in dialogues, and top and bottom for claim versus example in lectures.

Writing consumes listening attention, so restrict notes to what memory cannot hold.
Decide in advance what must be written.
Follow everything else by comprehension.
Progressively reduce how much you write in practice.
Write numbers, proper nouns, and sequences; hold logic and conclusions by understanding instead.
選択のタイミング
When options are read aloud, judge as you listen and commit the moment the last one ends.
Judge each option the moment you hear it.
Mark as soon as the final option finishes.
Flag anything uncertain and move forward.
Hesitation eats the preparation time for the next item, which usually costs more — flag it and move on.

Only seconds separate items, and whether you can clear the previous one determines your stability across the section.
Once marked, stop thinking about that item.
Use the gap to preview the next figure or options.
Keep a steady breathing rhythm.
Carrying hesitation forward is the main reason performance collapses in the second half of the listening block.
日常の練習
Listening grows through short daily sessions; last-minute cramming works far less well here than in other subjects.
Fix twenty minutes of listening every day.
Split it between shadowing and dictation.
Check yourself once a week in exam format.
Shadowing builds speed and sound change while dictation builds detail and numbers; alternate the two.
