Milestones
This stage
The undergraduate route usually starts in high school, so 'why Japan' is rarely one person's decision — it pulls in the family budget and years of planning. What this stage owes you: align the student's own wishes with what the family can carry, place Japan honestly against home-country admission and US/UK study, then decide whether to stake the post-high-school years on this route. If either motivation or family budget is hollow, EJU prep, applications, and the visa will all loop back for rework.
This step includes examples that are specific to a country or region. Treat them as notes, then follow the current rules for your nationality, actual residence, document issuer, and the Japanese mission responsible for your area.
